Windows 95/98/ME Application - SpeedClone software runs under Windows, and it is intended to copy FAT-based drives. The user interface is menu driven and simple enough for novices to use. All you do is connect a second drive into the system, boot Windows, and run the program. Then you select the target physical drive and the source physical drive, and initiate the copy process. The more memory you have in your system, the faster the operation proceeds. You can copy 275 megabytes per minute or more in a fast system.
Copy - SpeedClone copies a standard physical drive with FAT-based partitions to another physical drive in the same system. As long as there is room on the target drive, it can to that drive. If the target is larger than the source, SpeedClone can dynamically expand the partitions to fit the target drive. You can select the partition sizes, or let DriveUp calculate them for you. It supports IDE and SCSI interfaces, and it runs under Windows 95, 98, or ME.
Upgrade - SpeedClone upgrades drives, too. It will move a small drive to a larger drive by expanding the partition of the small drive to take up all the available space on the larger drive. This is typically the feature you need when you have Win95 on a 2.1G drive and you want to move the whole thing to a new 6G drive. It will also convert the file system of the source drive from FAT16 to FAT32 on the target drive. It does not expand non-FAT partitions.
Back Up - SpeedClone is ideal for backing up your hard drives by making a copy of the image. This is often more sensible than time-consuming tape backups which do not economically or quickly capture the entire contents of large drives. By swapping your backup drive with a damaged original source drive, you get your system up and running immediately.
SpeedClone includes documentation and software on one 3.5" software diskette. OEM versions are available for bundling with hard drives.
